Even if it was allowed, why would you bring any type of gun, even a toy, onto school property?

Most people do not know enough about guns to be able to tell the difference between a toy and a real gun. Therefore, no toy guns in schools.
Of course, the banning of guns in schools make them COMPLETELY defenseless in the case of an armed student or armed intruder. Eric and Dylan could enter Columbine HS and freely commit mahem with the absolute confidence that no one in the school would be able to stop them.
Contrast this with a school in Israel where the chance of an armed intruder is a greater threat than here in the US. Teachers are armed! Every adult in Israel must serve 2 years in the army which includes firearms training. Every teacher knows how to use firearms and deadly force in defense of his/her students.
Imagine the substitute teacher trapped in the Colombine HS library with Eric and Dylan reaching into her purse for her handgun that she was trained and ready to use to stop the attack.
Food for thought.

To politically wrong - It is not illegal for somebody to just posses a toy gun on school property. If your a student it might get you in trouble. You should really know what your talking about before you make a stupid comment.

Some the things schoold today consider weapons is getting asinine. The list includes toy guns, fingernail file, letter opener, scissors with sharp point, and the list goes on and on. You can get suspended, if not expelled for having any of the items I've listed in most schools in the U.S. today. My question is, a sharpened pencil is just as dangerous as a knife, so why aren't sharpened pencils on the "weapons" list?

They're most likely not allowed (depends on where you live)...My son's friend who lives in Kansas was almost expelled because he was playing with a toy air gun.
