Exercise, low fat foods, reduced calorie intake....You need to take in less and burn more.

Curves women's "gym" often have free 2 week trials, and I think have a sale (30% off) on their fees. I learned there that some of the best exercise for the waist is overall cardio work, and the exercises where you bend at the waist forward, sideways etc... and sit ups. You could just go for the free trial, and then figure out how to do the same exercises at home. (I don't work for or own a Curves.)

Also, when you develop more muscle and less fat all over, your body burns more calories and it will help everywhere.

I too have more weight in my middle (I'm over 10 years older than you!) and this is all helping me. Getting 30 min of exercise every day (actually 6 days a week)for 6 weeks took 4" off of my mid section. Even just walking counts! Then you can taper off.

Look at sugar & fat in everything you eat. Drink more water - I hate water but it can fill you up and flush you out.

You do have to push yourself at first, and you'll feel like to you do not have the energy to do it, but it will get easier as you go. I used to have trouble walking up hill, but I'm feeling more energetic now and am going to walk in the LA Revlon 5K in May. You can take your kids with you for those events!

I mapped out that one round trip walk to my grocery store and back is 1/2 of a 5K walk. So I'm practicing on the weekends.

You need to try. "they" say that a big "middle" is not healthy. You want to do this for yourself and your family.

Good luck!

Up your metobolism...cardio work outs only. Start by walking, move up to faster walking over longer distance. Then move up to cardio machine work out, keep your pulse rate up to 120-130 beats per minute for about 20-45 mins. Next, greatly reduce carbs in your diet...shift to more lean white meat, with fruits and vegatables. Lastly, a multi-vitamin and lots of water.
