As others have stated , the only real threat of CO poisoning you have (unless you like to fire up the Bar-B-Que grill in your living room) is your heating system. Basically anything that is burning can create CO. While the use of a CO detector is highly recommended ,if you read virtually any of the manufacturers' info they will tell you the detector should be used in conjunction with proper maintenance and inspection of your gas,oil or wood burning appliances.... CO detectors have been found to have a wide range of accuracy and should not REPLACE proper HVAC maintenance.. HAVE A QUALIFIED HVAC TECH INSPECT THE GAS HEATER EVERY YEAR BEFORE THE SEASON YOU USE IT BEGINS ! and no hibachis in the bedroom ;-P

Carbon monoxide is a very dangerous gas. Get a CO2 detector is good because things could go wrong . One other thing is the detectors use a chemical cell which will last about 3 years. Be careful about buying the sensors that they have on sail . They are possible over 1 year old.

The gas heating boiler could be a source of carbon monoxide if it develops problems. Get a detector (they are like a smoke alarm) for peace of mind.

Simple solution is just to buy a carbon monoxide detector that you can plug into any outlet in your house. That way if there happened to be a carbon monoxide leak your detector would warn you (as carbon monoxide is odorless and colorless).

Probably not, but I would consider a detector made for this. You could price them at Home Depot etc...My husband put one in the garage because like you, the primarily thing that COULD cause a problem is our cars.
