do you crack up laughing at yourself, just excuse yourself or make a joke out of it?

I work with a woman that has twice accidentally done this in front of me. The first time, we were with a male coworker. She said, "oops" and he made it worse by saying something about frogs or ducks. My reaction has been to have no reaction. The second time she didn't say anything -- we were in the middle of talking. I just ignored it.

Had it been ME, though, I would have made a stupid joke to break tension. "The doctor said that might happen." or "I'm in a new therapy group and was told not to keep anything in."

It's so much better to make a joke and break the ice than for everyone to sit there embarrassed and awkward.

In a very steadfast voice and serious face I say "That was the biggest 'Barking Spider' I ever saw! I'll be sure to bring a trap the next time I come out!" I apologize for my lack of inventory and the people around usually laugh!
((shrug)) Not much else you can say after that one! lol

You oops, or excuse me and forget it happened, unless it stinks. Then you try to get rid of the smell.

My roommate constantly burps and farts. He says he can not help it. But it is annoying.

Darn that Taco Bell. I knew I shouldn't have eaten that 5th chilupa. Or sorry, just testing the latest biological weapon.

Look around at everyone with a sign of relief on your face and announce, "Thank goodness it wasn't a wet one."

If you're standing near someone, look at them with your face aghast, as if they are the culprit.

Otherwise, a simple, "Oops" will suffice
