For those making assumptions, I flush every time.

I think I see where you're going with this, as I actually have a friend who has pondered this very question. You see, he is one of the cheapest people I've ever known. His reasoning is that it is cheaper to not flush every time, therefore, save on the water bill.

Do you pay for your water, or do you have a well? If you have a well, don't forget, you'll still have to pay the electric bill to run the pump, to replace the water that has been flushed.

If you don't flush, at least close the lid.

Good luck!

I don't live alone, I live with my parents and my brother but I don't flush every time it is a waste of water. If you do a number 2 then flush it, if it a number 1, then leave it until you have used the toilet a few times.

I am in Australia and where I live we are on Stage 4 water restrictions- it is not compulsory to not flush, I just think it wastes so much water. For example when I am using a public toilet or a nightclub toilet I never flush- usually people are waiting to use the toilet so I just tell them that I haven't because it wastes water, no one finds this strange, a lot of people do it

Everyone urinates and if you are healthy you should not have any odour to your urine so no one would be able to smell it in the toilet anyway

:)

I have 2 children and a husband the only time we flush just after using is if we do more than urinate. Otherwise we flush if it was used when we came in to use it or we would flush it before if we have to do more than urinate, for the whole splash factor sense. It conserves water, and unless your body is poison it shouldn't have an odor.

Yes, I do! It'd sit for hours in between bathroom breaks if I didn't, would start to smell quite a bit I'm afraid. Especially since I got one of those European toilets with a 'tray' so it's sitting up in the open there instead of mixing with all the water down deep.

I see no reason not to.

I would be uneasy having my pee just sitting in the toilet.

And you guys are wrong. If someone urinates and leaves it there for a while, it does start to smell.

I once was at a party where the hostess informed me that if I had to pee, to leave the urine in the toilet bowl and not flush unless I was having a bowl movement, and she would flush at the end of the party. How disgusting is that?

What one does by themselves in the privacy of their home has nothing to do with etiquette.

Flushing the loo every time you've used it has to do with good sanitary sense. And yes, I do flush every time.
