When I was 12 or 13, I found two kittens in my basement whose mother either abandoned them or died. Sadly, one kittens had kidney failure, something that sometimes happens, but is not the fault of the person taking care of it.
The other kitten lived.
Give the kitten some kitten formula and use a syringe. Eventually the kitten will get the idea that this is the new "nipple".
Your going to have to rub the belly and genitals with tissues, cloths, and q-tips to make it go the the bathroom since the mother cat would normally lick the kitten to make it go.
The kitten should have a heating pad or blanket to keep warm, and a soft baby to cuddle up with. A stuffed animal wouldn't hurt either. Keep it in a basket so it doesn't wander away or get stepped on.
The kitten needs to be picked up, cuddled, and held.
To wash the kitten, wipe it with a damp cloth.
If you have any questions, call a vet who specializes in cats.
I might call the kitten sweetie. My advice is to wait and see what comes to you. The kitten's personality and habits will give itself a name.

I have found that the best way to name a cat is to watch their personality.
Or if the road where you found her has an interesting name, you could use that. Or use a dirivitive of it.
Or let your little girls name her. That makes her even more special.
I have a Boomer because when I got him the vet told me he was going to be a big cat. And he IS! lol
I have a Dusty because when I got her she had flour all over her from where she had been a little to curious.
I also had an Ozzy (just passed away). He got his name when we were surfing channels on tv and stopped on MTV. Ozzy Osborne was playing "Ozzy Clause".
Whatever you name her will be special. Because she is the one who lived.
You could name her Hope. She was sitting there hoping that you would find her.
Goodluck with her. Make sure you take her to the vet too. She will need all of her kitten shots and probably dewormed as well.

at two or three weeks old a kitten has only just gotten it's eyes open and is only belly crawling or very wobbly on it's legs so i would say your baby is older than what you think,we have many feral cats around here,i have noticed the mother's start to take them along on short hunting trips at about 4-5 weeks of age,as soon as they can walk well, she is going to need the basic vet treatment, vaccinations, worming, overall health check up,a vet can recommend a good kitten food to start her on,my kittens have always done extremely well on Purina kitten chow, not an expensive brand to buy and i have found it to be just as good as the expensive stuff
how about naming her mistue(pronounced missed you) since unfortunately the mother and other sibling were killed but the car thankfully missed her

I like to pick names that people don't think of for a cat. I have had cats named Booger, Barker, Stitch, Dog, And right now I have a silver tiger cat named Spot. So what ever you think of be really creative

Your kitty has a lovely guardian angel. You could name her Michaela (after the archangel Michael). Angel in honor of her guardian angel. Madonna della Strada (Our Lady of the Street) for the hand that guided her to you. Mercedes as the special one saved from the scary, scary cars. Or just plain "Precious" for the special little baby who she is. Somehow "Flash" also seems appropriate from the descriptions in your story.
BTW, I hope you have a good kitten milk replacement for her. If she wasn't weaned, she may not know what to do with food yet. If she doesn't get it she may dehydrate and get very very sick before you realize what's happening.

First you need to take her to the vet for a thorough exam. Lucky is so over used but she is lucky that you came along. Roadside, because you found her on the roadside. You could always shorten it to Roe. Blessed, she is defiantly blessed and I do believe God watches over even the smallest of creatures. That is a few potential names. You just watch her and maybe her name will come to you.

Is she eating food? If so, she is not 2 weeks old. A 2-3 week old kitten could not outrun you either. Make sure you take her to the vet ASAP to have her checked out.
