A number starting with the area code 454 was on my caller ID late last night, but I can't find this code listed on any Area Code maps. Thanks in advance for your help!

You are correct. There are no such area codes in this country. According to the source I will list below, it is from here: Jiamusi. Yes, even telemarketers are taking their business to other countries... possibly explaining why some are so hard to understand what they're saying.
By the way, it is not Newark Delaware. Delaware's area code is 302, the city of Newark has a prefix of 454... in fact, many other cities have that same prefix as well. But again, it is not an area code.

Did not see that code for the united states area code listing. You can do a reverse lookup by putting in the full number with the area code into google's home page and then hit I'm feeling lucky. If it is a listed number, then it will show you the name of the person that it belongs to. I also listed where to find area codes.
