how do you improve the flow of dental inlay wax?

Heat. If you don't like the working characteristics of your wax, the best thing to do is try another brand. They are all "the same only different." I always thought that Dr. Peck's Inlay wax flows better than Kerr, for instance. Kerr makes regular and hard inlay wax.

Either a blow torch and a wax knife or run it under the hot water tap!
