Have you ever had a role model then you found out he's a fake?

well my coordinater was for me a role model. I wanted to be like him :succesful and respectful. But then I found out that he's a liar. He asks us to do his own job and lies about it and says that he did it. All my colleagues don't say a thing about this . Is this ok?
