I am considering trying Xanax. I have tried Paxil, Serzone, Wellbutrin (made me paranoid), Lexapro (considered suicide), and probably several others that I cannot recall. I'm not necessarily depressed, get the blues once in while. My problem is I'm pretty much perpetually angry. I don't strike out like physically or anything, I basically internalize it all. It's primarily a problem at work because I have this co-worker that I cannot stand. She doesn't come to work, she's materialistic, just in general annoying. And no one seems to care. And avoiding her is not an answer. We work in a very small confined space with no walls between us. I'm basically just seething all the time. Will Xanax help with anger?

I've made it clear to her my issues with her, in an e-mail several weeks ago, when she apologized "for inconveniencing me, and how she didn't take into consideration how her actions affected me", and again Thursday when she made the mistake of IM'g me on Yahoo and saying are we going to work this out so we can be friends. I replied that I cannot be friends with someone I have no respect for. Then she asked why I didn't respect her. I elaborated, reiterating all the same reasons as before. She's completely oblivious, or just doesn't care.

I love Xanax.. My Dr. has me on Effexor XR and I love that the most but before I was on anti-meds I stayed on Xanax as needed. the lowest dosage and would only take it when I was feeling angry or an outburst coming along..I also have the same issues. I feel depressed but mostly I feel angry at times and Xanax is great for that! Trust me!

Some say it is addictive but that is if you are taking it all of the time.. I take maybe one or two a week. No way will you get addicted if you only take as needed. Yea, if you are taking 5 a day everyday you may get addicted. My Dr. says that unless you are abusing these they aren't that easy to get addicted on..

U sound like I use to be exactly. I learned over the years the people I had resentments to went home and slept well while I was steaming inside. I figured I was only hurting myself. Then I heard a strange definition for "resentment"--it's only anger turned inward. Xanax might help but it would not remove the root of the problem. Xanax came out to replace Valium because Valium was so addictive but Xanax turned out to be more addictive. If u can make ur self pray for that girl in 2 wks. u will be surprised how much u have changed inside. U might start out by saying "God, help her ,she needs it" and go from there. Wonder wh. makes her such a butt-hole? maybe she has problems too. I hope u get some answers because I know that the anger and resentments can make a life a living hell. Good luck and just be open-minded enough to try this--this theory comes out of beliefs in the Bible.

Since you have tried the medication route and so far you haven't had much relief, why don't you think about some anger management counseling? Also, why don't you speak to this girl about what really bothers you...if you are afraid you may try to knock her block off then go with the anger management first...Medications aren't going to fix the problem, it wil still be there...Look at your name too..."A nobody from oklahoma" You need to start believing in you....you aren't a nobody....

Others will disagree, but Xanax can cause anger as well as treat it. It's all in getting the right dose. Too much makes you become angry.

give the xanax a miss...it can get addictive and you have to take more over time to get the same effect....and its hell to come off of ...i went cold turkey and believe me it wasnt pleasant...go to the gym and work you anger offf. get on the punching bag...and make out its is her...ha ..if no one else cares about what she is like dont let it bother you...some people are just good at getting away with acting like that...put up an invisable barrier between you to shut her out...i do this to my friend when she goes on and on about the same thing...and i just smile and agree...and dont let her see that she gets to you otherwise it might get worse....just smile and be pleasant...put a funny picture of someone on your desk...and when you look at it think of her....it will be your little secret and would be amusing...good luck
