hey guy I have a question is it a bad thing if you had a boyfriend or girlfriend and you did not get them anything for their birthday.

Well, it depends. If the relationship is brand new (like less than a few months), it might not be a bad thing. You are just getting to know the person. If the feel the same way, then you're all right.
On the other hand, if your relationship is not new, then yes. It's not good that you didn't get them something.
