Catholics believe in somethiing call the Original Sin, According to Christian tradition, original sin is the general condition of sinfulness (lack of holiness) into which human beings are born (Psalm 51:5). Original sin is also called hereditary sin, birth sin, or person sin. it refers to the first sin, committed when Adam and Eve succumbed to the serpent's temptation.

so to clease the person of this ASAP, Catholics baptise the child & cleanse them off it.

Baptism frees from original sin and all personal sins and from the punishment due to them, and makes the baptized person share in the Trinitarian life of God through "sanctifying grace" (the grace of justification that incorporates the person in Christ and his Church), also making the person a sharer too in the priesthood of Christ. It imparts the "theological" virtues (faith, hope and charity) and the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and marks the baptized person with a spiritual seal or character that indicates permanent belonging to Christ. Baptism is the foundation of communion between all Christians.

This phrase born in sin is explained as follows, after Adam and Eve sinned they became seperated from God because of this sin, a spiritual chasm between man and God has existed ever since.

If you think about it a child does not need to be taught to sin, to take things that do not belong to it etc because it is our nature, we are sinful by nature that is why we sin, not the other way round.

As a child grows up it will come to an age 'of understanding' when this is, is only really known by God as each person is different and matures physically and mentally at different rates. After reaching this age 'of understanding' the child knows the difference between right and wrong and as such becomes responsible for his/her actions and will be judged by God accordingly, until then should a child unfortunately die they will go directly to heaven.

Christians believe children are born innocent into a sinful world. A small child cannot sin because they have no concept of right and wrong.

Only God can explain this to you .
For example do you admit that Eve and Adam have sinned when they ate the forbidden fruit ?They were not God , why did they ate the apple , nobody must wish to own God's knowledge/science etc...
Then if you admitt this, then do you admit that all their kids, even us have been punished by God in a right way ?Meaning we must suffer from time to time being exposed to satan's temptations ...and resist?Or some of us do not resist or reject satan's temptations and accept to sin.Your grandgrandfather did something very bad let's say ..if you have faith and believe God is right and fulfill His comandements you have the ocasion to be protected by God from satan. So you will not suffer to much , you will not be punished unless satan tries to temptate you because you became a chalange like a saint , meaning too moral and this made satan try to lead you in temptation with much more effort from him.
The cleaning is done by our obedience to God .Baptising is something else according to my understanding...In Bible John the Baptizer , used to baptise meaning to obtain from people a kind of promise that they shall not sin from now on, once that they listened to him , and admitted that they are sinners .This baptising is a return to God , meaning from now on they have faith in God , God is their Master , not themselves , and that they shall do their best not to sin , and they shall try to fullfill all the comandements of God.
I am Ortodox,Christian (like Greek and Russia ) but I have my own ideas , as I studied languages and literatures and use to think the way I want.

Sin is the human condition. We all have this nature.Children are capable of rebellion, selfishness, unrighteous anger, and it doesn't take them very long to learn how to lie. There is also what is called an age of accountability, which is when he knows enough to know right from wrong, and to make a deliberate discision.

They aren't. I'm a muslim, and Islam sees children for what they are, a blessing from God that are pure. Parents mold their children into what they will become. If you teach your child that they are guilty of something even though they never did anything, they're going to act out just so you'll have a reason to place blame on them. People who say children who were not baptized, like those who are stillborn, that go to hell are heartless brainwashed individuals who really should be sterilized so they can't breed and inflict this type of emotional abuse onto children.

HI Sunflower,
A Child can not sin and is NOT born into sin. It is later that we are able to do so. There are a number pf Denominations that have attempted to Change what our Father said in their own interests. The Catholics probably began the original sin idea. They also believe that we are to baptize infants. There is no example in the Bible of doing so. Please read just a little farther... To become a real Christian, we are told that we must HEAR the WORD in John 6:45, Jesus said, “It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught by God. Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.” We are also told so in Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. We are told the we must BELIEVE in Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. We are also told so in Mark 16:16, Jesus said “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” and in John 5:24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. We are told that we must REPENT (or turn from sin) in Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Also in Acts 17:30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent. We are told to CONFESS CHRIST in Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. We are also told in 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. We are to be BAPTIZED according to Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” and Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. We are to CONTINUE to be FAITHFUL UNTIL DEATH according to Revelation 2:10c Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. We also know that Paul wrote in Romans 14:12 each of us shall give account of himself to God. It is important that we not ignore what is written, change what is written, or add to what is written in the New Testament which is our Christian Guide. My wife and I have been Non-denominational Christians for over twenty years. If you have additional questions, please write and I will write you back. Have a great day!
