Isn't "values" just another self-righteous, hypocritical
attitude? Expecting perfection from others when we ourselves are imperfect?
What about a little FAIRNESS? Realizing we all make mistakes. And instead of trying to kill everybody over them, try helping others correct the mistakes?
It's all in how you look at things. And there is no such thing as a problem, because there is a way around everything!

Values are as relative and subjective as fairness. It's all very well and good accepting our own imperfections and realising we make mistakes, but there are people out there who take advantage of others and have no values or sense of fairness.

However, there is hope! PR people and speechwriters (also those in advertising and media) seem to work on the assumption that most of us need someone else to do our thinking for us. You can rest easy in your bed tonight, safe in the knowledge that most of us can see through the hype and the hypocrisy and are perfectly capable of flexing our minds and reaching our own conclusions.

Just one thing I would take you up on - there are a lot of problems out there without a way round them. Starvation and genocide brought about by war comes to mind. Yes, there is a solution, but not the will. And dare I suggest that starvation and genocide brought about by war is caused by people who do not uphold values or have any sense of fairness?
