Fill the hole with there own poop, and cover with alittle dirt. They won't dig in that spot again. I have 4 Golden Retreivers who love to dig. My vet told me about this, and it works.

First, think of why they might be doing it. Dogs will dig in the summer until the find a cool spot--so unless you can think of another way for the dog to stay cool, you will have holes in the yard.
If it is a puppy, continue correcting it and eventually it should grow out of it.
Is there a certain spot where it digs--maybe something is attracting it there.
I had a dog that dug holes around the fence inside his kennel and tunneled out. So a put a big cement block or brick inside each hole--too heavy for him to move--so he gave up trying to tunnel out.
Maybe give him some different toys to play with to try to divert his attention? Good luck.

I don't know if you can. Digging holes is a very natural behavior for dogs. You might try giving him toys to play with and rawhide chews. This might help occupy his time. When you see him digging, try to divert his attention to something else. Maybe, over time, this will help to direct his attention to a different activity when he feels the need to dig. Good luck.

That's typical for puppies. He'll likely continue to do that for the next year or two. Just so he can't dig his way out then you should bury a board along the bottom of the fence. Or just keep on eye on him and the holes and keep filling them in. Get him micro chipped, if he isn't already, in case he does make it out.

Generally it's a sign of boredom-although some breeds are more prone to this than others-especially terriers.
If he seems to have a favorite spot then simply try to block it off.
Otherwise it's old fashioned discipline and a sharp No! every time he does it or a bucket of water thrown over him will discourage him from repeating it after a couple of lessons.

Dogs dig because they are bored and lonely, try spending more time with them.

bury his bowel movements wherever you don't want him to dig. you have to give him a bit of the yard to dig though or he'll be very unhappy.
