your body will start storing it and yeah it does make it harder to loose. when you don't eat it takes the fat that is in you already and stores it cuz it does not know when you'll be eating again. so slowly it looses the fat to use as energy. For it all to go away that takes a long time. Your better off to continue eating but exercise too. Think of it like this. Say you take in 4000 calories a day. But in your movement throughout the day you only burn 1500. So you have that much left and it starts accumulating, and turns to fat. What you want to do is exercise to burn off the calories you took in and then some. Yes you will be hungry more but that is good cuz that means your metabolism has speed up, making it easier for you to exercise and loose the weight.

You will lose alot of water if you don't stay hydrated. You can also ruin the benefits of your fast if you eat processed food right after.
You can take spirulina that is a good protein source and will help protect your muscle tissue. As for fat storage, it will happen in the beginning but once your body starts cleansing it will take from your fat stores.

I have some friends that did a fast where all they did was drink lemonade with chili powder in it. Some lasted longer than others, but one went 10 days. As long as you are hydrated then it really isn't bad for you. You don't want to go too long though or your body will start eating itself (first the fat and then the muscle). One week isn't a big deal at all. Just make sure that you are very hydrated, and if you do have the lemonade/chili powder then it actually acts as food/nutrients and cleans your system out.

If you do not eat for long periods of time, your body puts itself into "starvation mode", where it stores everything you've already eaten. Also, your body will store the next thing you do eat until you get back into a regular habit of eating often. It is very bad for your metabolism.
If you are fasting for a reason other than to "lose weight", then go for it. Although I would not reccommend the full week. If you are looking for a quick fix to getting thin, I definately would not reccommend this.
Good luck.
Here are some things that are obtained from anorexia/not eating:
- Endocrine disorder, leading to cessation of periods in girls
(amenorrhoea)
-a disturbed electrolyte balance, particularly low levels of phosphate, which has been linked to heart failure, muscle weakness, immune dysfunction, and ultimately death.
- Starvation symptoms, such as reduced metabolism, slow heart rate (bradycardia), hypotension, hypothermia and anemia
- Growth of lanugo hair over the body
-A serious strain on many of the body's organs and physiological resources
- Abnormalities of mineral and electrolyte levels in the body
- Zinc deficiency
- Often a reduction in white blood cell count
- Reduced immune system function
- Possibly with pallid complexion and sunken eyes
- Creaking joints and bones
-Collection of fluid in ankles during the day and around eyes during the night
- Constipation
- Very dry/chapped lips due to malnutrition
- Poor circulation, resulting in common attacks of 'pins and needles' and purple extremities
- In cases of extreme weight loss, there can be nerve deterioration, leading to difficulty in moving the feet
-Poor nutrition leads to the retarded growth of essential bone structure and low bone mineral density.
- headaches, due to malnutrition
- fainting
etc.

person can live without food for quite some time, usually for many weeks.
The body will use its fat and protein stores (muscles) to help it survive.
If a person has a lot of fat stores (is very heavy), they will live longer than a
person who has very little fat (very thin), so how long a person can survive
depends a lot of the person. Of course, if you go without food for a few weeks,
you will be very weak since you have been using your own muscles for energy.
Water is a different story. A person will die within 3-4 days without water. The
size of the person really doesn't make much difference.

your body need water at a bare miniumum at least every 3 days, and 5 days for food. unless you have a lot of fat depostis that your body will burn up. if you burn all the available carbs while you fast your body will start to burn fat. when you finally eat again your body will store everything in fear of a famine again. it happned over time when we were cave men and around that time.
