Everyday I do about 30 min of cardio
I also do ab workouts (crunches), 100 all together of different types and I do about 5 sets a day.
I also lift 5-10 pound weights (dont have access to any heavier ones) and I do about 80 reps of different exercises 5 times a day. ( I do upper body every other day)
Then on the days Im not doing upper body, I do leg exercises and 5 sets of those.
Am I doing too much? Do you guys have any advice?
Im 5'3 85 pounds and hoping to gain weight in muscle.

You are working out too much. I used to lift weights. left highschool bench pressing 240 pounds. i only weighed about 180.

here is where you are going wrong. there are 2 types of exersize, weight training, and cardio. You are doing cardio, thats great. most people dont. The problem is, the ammount of weight you are using. If you dont have access to anything heavier than a 10 pound weight. you will not gain muscle. If you have to, go out and find a block, or huge rock if there are any nearby.

the purpose of weight training is to actualy rip your muscle. while you are lifting weights your muscle gets riped, then when you are resting these rips grow back with more muscle.

you are alternating uppper and lower every day. this is great. it gives your body time to grow back.

here is my advice, since you do not have enough weight to push yourself to your lifting limit. use the weights while you are doing cardio. you will gain more by adding some resistance to your cardio, then lifting with such small weights.

when you do get heavier weights, this is the exersize i recomend. it was created by some germin guy. its great for building bulk. first start out with somewhat easy weight, o 10 reps for a warm up.
then, do 3 sets of 6 with heavier weight,
3 sets of 3 with even heavier weight
3 sets of 3 with even heavier weight
3 sets of 3 with even heavier weight
then 1 rep with your max
then 1 rep with your max
then 1 rep with your max
then 10 reps with your warmup weight <---- important

do this once a day, alternating upper and lower.
do not work out alone. doing this alone with your max can get you killed.

remember this, fewer reps with more weight builds bulk. more reps with less weight builds tone.
only lift weights once a day (when you get a weight set). if you lift weights too much it can make your bones brittle!!!

dont stop doing cardio. hold your 10 lb weiths when your are doing yoru cardio.

oh ya, like they mentioned above. streach before AND after. this is very important if you do not want to hurt your body.

You are not doing too much. This will keep you fit. If you want to gain muscle mass, remember two things. One, you need to break the piggy bank and buy one or two 15 or 20 lb. handweights/dumbbells. You need to train at heavier weights. Secondly, I assume from your screen name, Rachel, that you are female. If so, please know that God did not give you the testosterone such that you will have serious muscle mass gain. You can improve your strength and gain weight, but do not expect major changes. If you are training for playing a sport, you are on the right track. Get out and work on your skills as well.

what ever your doing is pretty good. Exercising 3 times a week atlease 30 minutes a day is a good way to exercise. Do plenty of stretches too.
