What is the best way to do that?

It takes much practice, especially in today's "multi-tasking" society. It is basically a zen attitude to be completely in the one moment - so practicing meditation, yoga, or other relaxation and focus techniques will help, and you can apply them to virtually any situation when you find yourself feeling overwhelmed. I usually stop EVERYTHING and take a couple slow deep breaths and then do a mental check that I have everything needed, and that I am prepared to perform this task.

Since you ask in the Golf category I will use that as an example - I start at my feet to make sure they're positioned where I want them for this particular shot (which I've determined prior to addressing the ball), then up to the knees, hips, spine, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, down to the head of the club, then make sure my neck and head are positioned properly, and when I feel all is correct I take another inhale and start my backswing.

At work, where I am constantly interrupted and rarely have time to focus, I will close the door to my office, clear my desk of everything but what I need for this task, and take a few deep breaths while mentally going through what needs to be done.

The best way to appraoch a golf shot is to have a pre shot routine. Stand behind your ball think about everything you want to do with your shot. Focus on your target while taking practice swings swinging the club how you want hit the ball. Your practice swing should be the swing you intend on using for that specific shot. Standing behind the ball and taking practice swings facing the target. Then when you approach the ball you stop thinking. Thats what your pre shot routine is for. Address the ball and hit it. The whole routine should take no more then 25 seconds. For better examples watch Tiger Woods or any pro for that matter. They use the same routine for every shot. That way it becomes just a matter of doing it without thinking about it. Then you can just relax and hit the ball without thinking. If you are standing over the ball, and thinking about your lineup, if you have the right club, and all the other questions, it will be very difficult ot hit your shot. Do your thinking behind the ball. IT will make the game less stressful. PRESHOT ROUTINE will help. You will get more comfortable addressing the ball doing the same thing every time.

Give the conscious mind something to do so it won't distract the sub-conscious mind from allowing your inate ability and talent to execute the shot. This is what the pre-shot routine is for. It allows the conscious mind to be quiteted and not complicate the entire brain with negative or limiting thoughts. Just commit to the routine, repeat it before each full shot, and be amazed at how well you play.
