To the people who think so low of anyone who has a tattoo you may be suprised at who all has one. People can cover tattoos with clothes. You never know if your Doctor, Dentist, Boss or other people you think highly of could have a tattoo that you have not seen. If you knew they had one would your opinion of them change?

Personally, I have a tattoo that I waited 6 years to come up with a good design, with meaning to me, before I actually put on my body. It was my own design and I stared long and hard for months at it to make sure that it was "the one" for me before I made the leap. I don't shun most people with them. Others I do, because that depends on how they display their tats - many tats have meanings other then what they look like. It is a total language all its own. If they are done in good taste, then there is nothing wrong with them at all. Its a lifelong decision that only that person can make...and says alot about them without a word coming out of their mouth.

I guess it sort of depends. Does this person have a big greasy Swastika on his forehead? I might steer clear of a person like that. Then again, that person may have changed his ways since he got that tat. I hate it when people look at someone and right away think he or she is bad. If the Pres. was sleeved , I would think that was pretty awesome. Tats don't make the person, actions do.........
Edit: Don't think you can't get a good job if you have tattoos either. I collect a 6 figure income. I have a great life, and awesome friends. When I'm 80, I won't care about my wrinkly skin, just my super hot home health care nurses..... (j/k)

I like tattoos, but not on the face or neck. I find those scary. I don't see what the big deal about being an old person with a tattoo is. You're old, who really cares? It's not like you're trying out for Miss America or anything. I would not shun anyone, because they have tattoos, but they can make a person look tough.

I don't know about the full sleeve thing on the President. I have a tattoo on my foot and I don't think they are disgusting thing. I think a little discretion should be used especially if your image depends on it, but it does not make a person bad or worthy of being shunned. I still think all the prisonors in our jails sent to Iragqto fight for this country; they could probably end the war for us. Sorry, I had to put that in there.

Tattoos do not make one a bad person, but society does have a dim view of people with tattoos because of past history. Personally, I don't think that most people should get tattoos because they only look good for the moment. In 50 years, do you want some old, faded, stretched out tattoo to look at? I'm in healthcare and have some pretty nasty looking tats.

i doubt that we'll ever have a fully sleeved president here in america. just my opinion. but whether or not someone has tattoos does not sway my opinion about anybody. i love good tattoos. of course having tattoos doesn't make someone a bad person. i have tattoos and i'm a great person! i'm fun and funny and an all around good girl.

Umm, ok. No offence, but when I go to a restaurant and there's a worker who has tattoos covering their arms, I'm sort of grossed out! If you're planning on going into the business world or another important job, I wouldn't suggest it. BUT, if the tattoo isn't really visible, then I think they're oK... I wouldn't SHUN a person or think they're bad, but I mean, will that person still like that tattoo when they're 80 or something??

i think people either view tats as trashy or bad ***. i dont think there is really any in between unless you are part of the tattoo community (i think it opens you eyes and makes you realize that just because someone has tattoos does not necessarily mean that they are either bad *** or trashy. they could be boring for all we know). i usually first think of someone with tattoos as tough. and that is what i first thought when i saw this question. but then i thought about it and realized what i wrote in parentheses. i only believe that is true because a few years ago if i saw someone with a lot of piercing i would have thought them weird. but now im getting a collection of piercing myself and realize that isnt necessarily the case and i think that holds true with tats as well

some people have them, some people don't. Sorry to be so vague about it.
A tattoo doesn't determine a person's character so no I wouldn't shun an individual because of them.
I have one but it's not visible unless I show it to you. My choice to get one that's not too noticeable...others choose to things like full sleeves...it's the individual....to each his/her own.
