Had it for 2 months.....believe that it is infected because of the darker color around the area and the puss....is it better to take it out and start all over again or leave it in and take care of it like I should have in the beginning?? In the beginning I didn't have the money to buy the right chemicals to take care of it and now I do... is it too late to do that?

No its not too late... I have my navel pierced as well and so do most of my friends.. Most of my friends have infected navels as well and i have been halping get theirs better.. A good idea is to swim in salt water if you can or splash salt water on it twice daily.. A lot of people will tell you to take it out but i would say not to.. Go back to your piercer and get there professional advice.. they will know what to do.. Trust them and do exactly what they say..

...I hope it gets better soon.

At this point it would be better to take the ring out. If you are determined to keep the ring you could go on a course of antibiotics from your doctor. If you do not have the chemicals to take care of an piercing it would be better to wait until you have the money to do the job right. In a pinch plain alcohol can be used for cleaning . It may not be to late if you can still move the ring around for cleaning.

if you think you have an infection please go to your Dr. if you want to save it, don't take the ring out because the hole will close trapping the infection. What your seeing is probably not puss but "lymph" which is the normal healing process. A navel piercing usually takes 6 months to 1 year to heal. Please see your health care provider or wash with liquid antibacterial soap twice a day in the shower and clean the crusted matter with natural sea salt a few times a day and then in a couple of Weeks you should see a major difference!!! keep it clean and dry !!!

This happened to me when I first got my belly piercing done. It was painful and turned dark and had puss coming out.

What you need to do is TAKE IT OUT! You will find it closes up quickly anyway. Then go to your doctor and get a cream called Fuciden Cream, which is for treatment of infections.

After my infection got better, I waited for about 3 months before I got it pierced again.
You don't need expensive chemicals to care for your piercing - salt and cooled boiled water is sufficient.

Buy some Hydrogenperoxide (brown bottle at the pharmacy costs about $1.00) and some neosporin (sp?) and clean it a few times a day, mine got infected and I didn't take it out and it's fine now. Try this before removing it. If after a few weeks you don't see a result contact your dr.

Luckily it's your ring that's affected, not your navel. But I'm not too sure if rings will develop puss - I'm sure it can get darker though. Anyhow, see a doctor quickly! Don't let the condition become keloid!

If you didn't have the money to take care of it properly when you got it pierced, then you really had no business getting it pierced, did you? It sounds as though you are really immature.

What you should do now, is get it checked to be sure that the infection doesn't cause septic to the rest of your body. (Not the dope at the tattoo/pierce place, but one with MD at the end of their name) Then, do as they tell you to take care of it properly.

Oh wow, it relies upon on how rapidly you heal. you would possibly want to attend until eventually eventually your navel has thoroughly healed and scarred up. truly at the same time as your scar isn't study anymore. I shall upload that it will likely be extra painful to get it re-pierced further ingredient

you can keep it in and just apply the proper medications to it.. any kind of bacterial antiseptic will work, neosporin or bacitration even the new bandaid liguid antiseptic is fine. all this is not expensive to get. just keep applying on the area and move the navel ring while the cream is on it. when you shower use just wash the area with watever body soap you use. just keep it clean and you will be fine.
