A whitehead is when the trapped sebum and bacteria stay below the skin surface, a whitehead is formed. Whiteheads may show up as tiny white spots, or they may be so small that they are invisible to the naked eye.

Here we go:
When bacteria gets into your pores, it multiplies and multiplies underneath your skin, and makes it into a blackhead. Blackheads are the hardest to pop because they are so small and filled with dirty scuzzy bacteria. The blackheads then get bigger if untreated (by face wash) and turns into a whitehead. Hope this helps=]
