photoshop problem HELP!?

no matter wat color i put in photoshop it truns out greyish i have photoshop CS can u please help me..
ex: when i choose the color red and then i draw it draws in grey why? :(

when you open a new document, set it to RGB color instead of B&W or Greyscale.
