How can you really be sure what someone else knows? Especially when you make hateful assumptions and refuse to let people speak for themselves? I am referring to an answer he gave someone else when they asked about us. Am I the only person that finds this type of behavior disrespectful (at the very least) and possibly even hateful? Is it necessary?

I am a construction worker with an outdated computer and minimal computer skills. I am unable to post a link, but the question was asked about Catholics understanding the concept of being born again.

The question was asked by Sojo about 45 or 50 minutes ago. Jeff C gave an answer that I believe most Catholics would find offensive.

You did answer the question Meg as did I. Jeff C answered after us. I saw it when i went to see what other Catholics might be thinking.

Because, unfortunately for too long, Christians have not had a 'relationship' with God and His Son Jesus Christ. They have been relying on 'religion' instead.

I know it is a harsh thing to say, but Catholics do not necessarily follow what is in the Bible. According to God's Holy Word, we are able to go directly to Him in prayer and He taught us NOT to continuously repeat prayers. Like priests make a person do, when they confess their sins. The Bible says, that once we confess our sins to God, He WILL forgive us; if we believe in His Word.

God does not want us to pray, in the name of anyone; expect Him or His Son Jesus Christ. We are not to pray, in the name of Mary or the saints. The Bible says, that Jesus Christ is our Only Intercessor. Yet, Catholics believe and are taught that they can pray to Mary, as an Intercessor.

According to the Word of God (the Bible), we are not to have any man-made images or bow down to them. I have been in Catholic churches, they have statues everywhere. I know, Catholics will say that those statues are only to honor those individuals. But, that does not nullify the fact that God Himself, said to NOT make those images or pray to them. I have seen people kneeling in front of a statue of Mary and others. The Catholics also believe and are taught that "dead people/saints" can perform miracles - like healing a person.

That is a lie, because we are told, directly from the Bible; that God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) is the Only One we are to go to for healing and in prayer. The saints, were wonderful people; but since they are dead. They have no power - Only The Triune and Living God - has the ability and power to hear and answer our prayers!

If you or any Catholic do not agree with what I just said, read the Bible for yourself. Study the Word of God and compare it to the way you are being taught by your priests and nuns. I am not trying to be hateful, but I am trying to let Catholics see the Truth - God's Word - the Holy Bible is our source for information about God and His Son Jesus Christ.

The Catholic 'denomination' is not 'the church'. According to the Bible, "The Church" is the 'Body of Christ' or ALL BELIEVERS in Jesus Christ. In Matthew 16:13-20, when Jesus Christ and the disciples were asked "Who do people say the Son of Man is?" When Peter was told "on this rock I build my church". What Jesus Christ was replying to was Peter's response "You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God." THAT is the 'rock' Christ build His Church on.

Do you recognize these words? ----- "On Christ, the Soild Rock I stand", that is what Jesus Christ was saying to Peter. But somehow, it got twisted into meaning that Peter was the rock of the Church. Or are we to start worshiping him, instead of Christ Jesus?
