As many people have advised you can get the free program at www.openoffice.org. They have a program called Impress which is compatible with MS Power Point. Impress allows you to open/create/edit and save documents in both the open office and Power Point formats. This allows you to create a presentation in open office and then send it to people who have Power Point so they can then view or edit the document.

We use all the open office products in our small business and have never had a problem with them and of course you cant beat FREE.

Yes, you need Microsoft Office, I don't believe PowerPoint is sold separately. The great news, there is a free Office Suite you can download that has a PowerPoint like program in it. Download Open Office Org. Chow

Or you could use the free alternative:

http://www.openoffice.org/

It includes programs similar to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and can open and modify, and save files in Microsoft Office formats.

Not at all. Download "open office" freeware from http://www.openoffice.org and you'll be totally compatible with MS Office. However, you need a fast internet connection to download it. You can send for a CD disk instead.
