So fundamental is this question that the first verse of the first book in the Bible reads: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. So there is a heaven.

Human's cannot fathom what heaven will be like and God realised this. The authors of the Bible which is God breathed or inspired likened heaven to other things. I think it is best summed by this parable:

Mat 13:44
The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.

This is only relevant of course if you have any faith in the integrity of the Bible but I am encourgaged by your questioning. That is how the search for out physical purpose begins and it may lead one to different avenues. I pray yours lead's to the true source of hope.

Heaven is a temporary place where you go to when you die, but you will not stay there, you will go back to earth.

Why, well, because everything that is interesting and exiting is NEW, so when you will be in heaven for millions and millions of years you will get very very very BORED.

That´s where the reincarnation comes in, you will not die when you die, you will die when you will go back to earth because you will not remember your former self and ego.

If you want answers to your questions, look at nature. It holds all the answers. In nature everything is a circle, the water rises from the sea in a cloud, the cloud comes over the land, rain falls on the land, rain will form a river, river will end in the sea... and so on.

So heaven is a nice place.... for a while....

There is absolutely no evidence whatsoever for the existence of Heaven. This life is the one and only life that you will get. Understanding this gives meaning to your life, to make this one count, to look at life in a different way, to value this life and live it to the fullest extent.
If there is a Heaven, then why live this life? Why don't people rejoice when someone is dying? Someone who thinks there is a Heaven would prefer dying quickly so he or she could get to Heaven quicker. Heaven takes all the meaning out of life.

There is a heaven. It is the middle "star" in the sword of Orion. After the resurrection of the righteous, we will be there for 1000 years. We know very little of what it is like. The main thing we will be doing at that time is affirming that YHVH was as generous as justice allows. After that 1000 years we will return to earth, and it will be made new, and very good, and we will live here throughout eternity.

Yes of course there is a heaven. It is just like earth, but more beautiful & it is perfect - with no rubbish in the streams, pollution etc. You should read "Life on the other side" by Sylvia Browne available from www.amazon.co.uk
It is well worth reading. I know it changed the whole way I view & live my life & I'm no longer afraid of dying.

There is a heaven as written in the Bible, it is a place where there is no sorrow or sadness, no crying or tears, pain ,death and the Lord himself shall wipe away all tears. (See Revelation chapter 21). This is of course a Christian view.
As there is a heaven, there is also a hell which does exist and is the complete opposite of heaven.

I got a best answer on a question about hell, a kind of tongue in cheek physics/religion hybrid theory. It actually sounds plausible.

Yes, there is a heaven. Yes, people have been there and been back.

Imagine a place where everyone knows every rotten, hidden, nasty, despicable thing you ever did or even thought of doing. Now imagine that they all love and accept you for who you are, not only in spite of that, but, because of it.

Because you admitted being imperfect.
Because you accepted responsibility for being imperfect.
Because you did your best to be your best even when you made mistakes.
Because you placed your faith in the One True and Living God above everything else in your life.

Yes, there is a hell and a heaven, but we believe because the bible says so. Since no one has been there and come back, there is no way of knowing what it is like. Just read the bible to learn the truths of God's word.

al-Jannah described in al-Qur'an

Surah: 2. al-Baqara

25. But give glad tidings to those who believe and work righteousness that their portion is Gardens beneath which rivers flow. Every time they are fed with fruits therefrom they say: "Why this is what we were fed with before" for they are given things in similitude; and they have therein companions (pure and holy); and they abide therein (for ever).

133. Be quick in the race for forgiveness from your Lord and for a garden whose width is that (of the whole) of the heavens and of the earth prepared for the righteous.
