It depends on which version, There is an Office XP, Office 2000, Office 2007, Office Small Business, Office Professional, and more. It is all designed to confuse you into spending still more money. They cost Hundreds, except maybe the student versions which are "Only" about $150. Dont throw money at the problem because open office is more secure and less virus prone and is free at www.openoffice.org

Don't convert. Chances are you wont even use 3% of what is available with office. Use Openoffice.org's software. Or better yet, use google docs which are completely stored online and collaborative.
