As me and my partner have been together for 14 years and have two boys, I have made the choice not to have any bridemaids and involve our children into the wedding. the oldest who is 13 we would like him to be best man, and my youngest will walk with me down the aisle. My bestest mate can't make it to the wedding as she lives abroad. Hasany one else done this.

Also any good websites for hair and flowers ideas.

Thanks in advance

I got married in Gretna on the most beautiful day of the year. It's wonderful, my husband sprang the surprise on me. He told us we were going to the lakes district for the weekend. My in-laws turned up unannounced to be our witness. My husband arranged everything through the internet and telephone. Everyone is really helpful. This is a good website: http://www.gretnaweddings.com/index.html

We stayed at Hazeldene Hotel. Fabulous, they upgraded us to Honeymoon suite with a bottle of champange!!!

Good luck and happy marriage!

A friend of mine did. it is very beautiful at Gretna and plenty of good photo opportunities. There is a nice pub round the corner that does nice food and most of the people doing Gretna as a small do go there as is cheap but quality food.

Think your idea is fine but I have a feeling here in Scotland you have to be a certain age to witness a wedding. Just telling you in order that you can check......wouldn't want any hitches on the BIG day!!! Good luck.

I had only one bridesmaid; small wedding. I had both my father and my brother walk me down the aisle. Your wedding should be as unique as you are. For your friend, I would say to have the wedding video taped and send it to her. I made all my own flower bouquets. here is one website.

I think you are not in any problem with this. Just follow your instincts.
