There are plenty of gallaries on the web of the main works from all the major artists. Paintings and sculptures would both count as works of art.
Pick two artists' names, then browse the important collections of the world from your armchair! Find two that have a similar subject; such as a street scene, a festival or a countryside home - so that similarities come easily - and then focus on the differences, which should include such things as developments in perspective, realistic expression and control of dark or light in the more recent picture.
Good luck with an interesting project!

A good one to look at is 'Le/La dejeuner sur l'herbe' Manet.
Picasso made some concrete sculptures based on this. Cezanne made quite a few images of it.
Matisse also. There are more and I think you will discover that Manet got it from an earlier work. I can't remember off the top of my head what it was though.
The comparisons and contrasts you can make are numerous and there is also a lot of gen on it on things like www.artlex.com and www.wikepedia.com. To download free small scale images you could try www.allposters.com.

Try 'Enclosed Field with Rising Sun' by Van Gogh and 'Gemaelde' by David Hockney. Just a thought!
