david m: i think you're the one that has it all wrong. i have seen numerous questions that go something like this: "How do you bring up your faith to non-believers?" I think it's a fair test to turn things around. Obviously, you have a slight problem with freedom of expression.

Apparently you have no problem doing so because you just did. We all have our beliefs and are free to express them. I pretty much agree with Gazoo and would say that with atheists or anybody else it is not normally something that needs to be discussed. Very often we all really want the same things anyway (Good jobs, world peace etc.) But you did intentionally enter a forum designed to discuss religion and spirituality. Coming here just to say that is similar to the foolish fundamentalists the go to the gay section to bash people or try to change them. Is it possible your energy could be put to better use attempting to understand religious people and our various beliefs and practices?

Not at all, just that I don't believe in God doesn't mean I want to attack other people's faith.

I just usually tel them that I dont beleive in God, but I still respect their belief. My best friends a strong christian and I'm a strong atheist. It doesnt mean you have to be arch enemies.

I don't. Unless they try to bring up their "god is real" crap to me first. And then I try to politely steer us away from the conversation. If that doesn't work, I ask them to stop. If it still doesn't work, I walk away.

I would never do that. People are entitled to believe whatever they want, as long as they aren't hurting other people.
