What if they gave a war and everyone came;
Every senator’s son and daughter.
Every senator too and me and you:
Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, Moslem, Jew, in barter.
What if Yale and Harvard went port to starboard,
Sending every scholastic son and daughter.
And “Think Tanks” had to go, committing “who know”
To clean up after the slaughter.
Yes, there’d still be war, but we’d know what for
When we buried our brave sons and daughters.

I think that if that were to occur, people would think more before jumping so quick and easy on the war bandwagon next time.

War is not as simple as a lot of people like to make it sound especially in an election year when political spin doctors try to make it a foregone conclusion that if their party was in power there would be no war. However, we have wars from the Dem and Repub Parties and like Iraq we have wars that are supported by both parties until the next election when Dems can get people to sit up and bark and make enough barking noise to forget that it was a Dem Party majority in Congress that gave Bush the power to invade. There really was nothing wrong with the war, it is staying to help people that will not help themselves that has been the problem. We should have left the day after Saddam was captured and let the chips fall where they may. If that had happened would we be hearing from Dem candidates that we left too soon? Yeah because there is no honor in politics and that is what we are hearing now. Wars are serious business, being a member of Congress is for clowns. It does not mix well.

There is war because of politics, greed and religions. People wanted to grab power just like North Korea or stay in power just like what the superpowers are doing. Nobody wins in war because everybody is affected by the devastation that it brings.

The people who believe this is a legitimate question would die first. The people you believe are escaping the military would be to busy defeating the enemy to save your A**.
