I use two types of insulin ... I use the stomach for the fast acting -- at the advice of my endocrinologist, and the leg for the slow acting -- again upon the advice of the endocrinologist. He said that the muscles in the thigh are better suited for the absorption of Lantus.

Right side of the abdomen then the buttocks. Now that I'm on the pump, I never use the legs and arms anymore; they were always the most painful.

I use to do it in my legs for the longest time and thats where I kind of prefered. I always thought it was kinda odd to put it in my stomach, but my doctor wanted me to take it there, this was when I switched to humalog and lantis so it might depend on your insulin a little bit. Its something you should deffintally ask a professional about. But anyway.. I dont mind it in my stomach now that I have been doing it for a while.

If anything its deffintally more accessable to take the shots in my stomach, which makes it easier.

well for almost 2 months since I have been on Lantus, i have been injecting myself on the stomach. I had done it on my arms, but it wasn't that comfortable. I was even told that I can inject on the upper leg (thigh) but have not tried it. Im more comfortable injecting in the abdomen.
