if it's on your spine then yes it will hurt. i have had a lot of tattoo work done on my spine and every bit of it has hurt. i actually only have about four inches of spine left to be tattooed and i couldn't be happier about that! but it is totally bearable and if you're getting a good tattoo then totally worth it. good luck!

Hi. I am a bit of a pain wuss, so I think it hurt a lot... ! But as other say, everybody's different. But not that bad that I didn't think I was going to make it. Mostly just a kind of annoying hurt. Once the outlines have been made, it doesn't hurt too bad to get the colors/filling done, cause then your skin is pretty numb.

Directly betwen the shoulder blades and only a little below the neck I found less painful than middle of the back. In fact, halfway down my back laterally is rather on the harsh side. However, anything across the spine I find nastier than to the side.

All tattoos are going to hurt, that's part of the fun! But this is a spot that's supposed to be more painful on males than females...good luck!

it depends on the person and on how high your pain threshhold is
mine hurted but it wasn't excrutiating.
