Seriously... if there was a vaccine against AIDS, I'm sure some of you would still complain... However, no matter what you tell your children some of them are going to have sex anyways. Might as well protect them against a virus... that causes CANCER...that causes infertility and even death? Right? Or I'm just an oddball? If I could step back in time, I'd give myself the vaccine in a heartbeat. Better safe than sorry.

Really... some kids are going to have sex anyways, and the vaccine is most effective when given before puberty/menstruation starts. Even if your kids end up staying abstinant theres still a chance of catching the disease after marriage.

I wish it was around years ago! Maybe then I wouldn't have contracted HPV and developed cervical cancer from it at the age of 17.

People don't seem to understand how serious HPV can be. Sure, for the most part it's harmless, but tell that to the 4,000 families out there that lost a mother, a wife, or a sister to cervical cancer! 10,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer every single year and 4,000 of those women die from it!

Think of all of those women that would still be here today if only they had the vaccine out before they contracted HPV! People are going to have sex, there is no way around it. So why not protect yourself, or if you are a mother, protect your daughter? It's a lot better than having cancer and possibly dying from it!

people who're pointing out that the government is taking administration, are ignorant. elementary and easy. i'm a woman with the HPV virus. i've got had precancerous cells removed from my cervix and that i'm nevertheless dealing with the long technique. i'll be under the watchful eye of my prevalent practitioner till I incredibly have a classic pap smear. do you comprehend the kind of shock that provides a guy or woman? HPV infects tens of millions of human beings each and in line with annum. those are the data. it fairly is the quickest becoming virus and each and in line with annum further and further women die of cervical maximum cancers. If this vaccine is secure for youthful females then why don't you???? Why might a discern deny their daughters the prospect to be secure against cervical maximum cancers, some thing which could end their lives??? in simple terms on the grounds which you provide a youthful female a vaccine against HPV does no longer recommend they are going to substitute into promiscuous. we don't comprehend what must be down the line for our daughters. it fairly is to guard and help shop their lives. One elementary mistake is all it takes to alter right into a provider of this virus. and there is not any treatment.

I'm sure you'll agree that people are idiots.

People see doctors administering an injection to a girl under the correct and logical assumption that the child will later grow up to be an adult who has sexual urges, just like the rest of the human race and the rest of the animal kingdom.

Parents just refuse to believe it and buy in to the innocence of the child at the present moment in time. As a practical measure of preventing what can be a very serious disease, I support it 100 percent.

Actually I'd never heard of the HPV vaccine until a few months ago and then again last month in my doctor's office. Yes, cancer in stage one probably caused by the virus. So yes I am a firm believer in prevention, if it be HPV, Hep B, chicken pox, etc .We've all heard "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" and it's true.

I AGREE TO THE FULLEST! If parents dont have their girls get it then they are DUMB! No offence to anyone. But kids are young and going to make mistakes. I am still young and i made some mistakes and I have hpv now. I have something for the rest of my life. Yes, i did make the mistake but if it could have been prevented by getting a shot i would have got the shot. I would be a little upset but i know my parents WERE ACTULLY doing something TO HELP ME. Some parents dont talk about stds, sex, the oppisite sex and or any kind of sexual activity. I know my parents didnt.

I think it's great!I don't think they should make it mandatory to have it.I think they should make it available like all the other vaccines and girls get it enless they have something signed from their parents.I mean it would probably get lost in the shuffle if the parents actually had to say no.
But I think it is great I wish I could of had it!I have had so many female problems my whole life that would be great to try to avoid some before they started. And like stated above you could get it married!
