It looks kind of like a heart... but that has nothing to do with anything. okay, what I know is, it is red, smooth spots on my skin, like a permanent blush. It is on my upper thigh. It is jokingly referred to as a sharkbite, but I don't know if that is done elsewhere, or if it just a family thing. I've had them since birth, and they are apparently usually smaller, and fade by the time a person is a few years old. I would love to know what it is actually called, preferably before shorts season this year (starts in about 2-3 weeks where I live) because I am tired of people asking, and me not knowing.

It's a birthmark....I have the exact same thing. I don't worry about mine being seen.(which I have 4 of them on the same leg, around the same place, which is around the bend of my leg).

Ive never worried about it and Im 20 years old now...Its just apart of you that makes us unique.

Sounds like a birthmark. Many can be much improved by laser treatment: see a dermatologist soon.
