Having genital herpes makes you more susceptible to contracting other STDs, but it is not an immune deficiency disease like AIDS. Herpes is however for life, there is no cure for it.

There is medication that a person can take if they are having an outbreak, but the sores will heal without the medication, it just takes a little longer. A person can take medication every day if they want or they can take it just when they are having an outbreak.

I have had genital herpes for over 6 years. I only take my medication when I am having an outbreak. It's too expensive to take every single day and it personally makes me nauseous, so I prefer not to take it every day. I have been outbreak free for over 2 years now.

No, herpes is not an autoimmune disease...its a virus you catch from coming in contact with someone who already has it, and unfortunately there is no cure for it, however you do not necessarily need to take medication every single day for the rest of your life.....but you will need medication whenever you have an outbreak....but yes it a lifetime thing

I got clinically diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about six years ago, when I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her you-know-what? But since a friend shared this video everything changed https://tr.im/TreatmentsHerpes2015dQlJ

Not only was I able to clear away all traces of the hsv from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating once more. I even met the man of my dreams. This method provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the whole World.

Diabetes and herpes would be a terrible combo. Even if you didn't have diabetes, you'd have a chance of contracting herpes from your partner. Speak to your doctor about genital herpes, and how it's treated and how easy it is to transmit. Then ask if you have a higher risk of catching it. When you are well armed with good sound medical advice from your doctor, you can decide your next step with this relationship. But make sure it's based on medical advice from your doctor, not just people with opinions here.

No herpes is a Virus, and yes there is medicatoin for it.

The most common herpes viruses are herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) and herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2). Usually HSV-1 causes cold sores or fever blisters on or around the lips and HSV-2 affects areas below the waist, causing genital herpes. But both HSV-1 and HSV-2 viruses can cause herpes outbreaks in either area. Other common herpes infections include chicken pox and shingles which are caused by the herpes zoster virus.

Taking perscription Valtrex will prevent future outbreaks and drastically reduce the risk of giving it to your partners.

also its important for you to know you can spread herpes even when you dont have an outbreak - in fact most infections happen when partner is not showing signs of infection

I have had it for 5 yrs and have outbreaks about 2x a yr. You can take valtrex to cut the outbreak time in half. Some ppl have it worse than others. It gets less and less as the yrs go by. It is lifelong, but you might not get outbreaks forever. GL
