You can't really answer this by just a few bits of info. My strongest suggestion is that you see a doctor ASAP. However, the symptoms you mention are linked to diabetes. Now did you take your test on an empty stomach (fasting) or after a meal? That has a lot to do with the prognosis.
Cuz if 97 was after a meal you might have the opposite wich is Hypoglucemia (the opposite of diabetes). But if it was on an empty stomach, this is a bit high.
Normal ranges are as follows:
70ml/dL - 110ml/dL On Empty Stomach
110ml/dL - 160ml/dL After a meal (within 2 hours)

I think you're a hypochondriac. It's excessive thirst (as in drinking a dozen 2-litre bottles of soda within 30 minutes and still being thirsty) not hunger. In fact, high blood sugar tends to cause a decrease in hunger; this is the body's natural defense because ingesting any starches or carbohydrates would in turn make your blood sugar go even higher. Let me put it this way. When I was diagnosed with Type I diabetes 16 years ago, my blood sugar level was over 900ml, yours is 97? Relax. You don't have diabetes, you're well in the normal range.
