Does anyone know specifically why the cut off age for the HPV vaccine, Gardasil, is 25?

Merck and Co. only tested it on girls ranging from ages 9-26 because younger girls are less likely to have contracted HPV or been exposed to it compared to, say, a 40 year old. A woman (and even a man) can still get the vaccine if they are over 26. Just ask your doctor and I'm sure they will be happy to give you the vaccine.

the age limit is who the drug company can legally advertise to.but a doctor can prescribe it to a man or woman at any age.
