It's not just in the kitchen, it's all over the house. Dresser, desks, tv. I have never had a cat like this, but he follows me everywhere like he really loves me. I can't sneel out of the room even if he's sleeping. He's 4 months old.

Ill give you the best advise ever given in the history of cats and furniture.... dont worry about the cat on the countertop, and just dont leave food out for it to get into.
People are going to tell you to use a spray bottle, to use a shaker can, to yell at them, push them down... they all say it can be done, BUT have everyone one of those people put a camera inside there home when they are gone or not paying attention, and everyone will find there cat still gets on the counter.
Cats will do what cats want to do when cats want to do it. I tried to train all 4 of my cats to stop that, and the most i did was train them to do it when i was around. I sprayed with water, I did the shaker can, I tried the small mouse traps. NO AVAIL. I gave up. I learned not to let the butter and cookies and ham sandwiches sit out for a length of time. Food is in containers in the fridge and cupboards. Thats where it belongs. I am sure to always clean the surface of my counter with a clorox wipe before i prepare food.
My cats have gotten sneaking in there old age, and try to fool me but ever once in a while, Ill come home to little blue eyes glaring at me from the edge of refridgerator, in a grimace that says, "S**T caught again!!!"

My cats Never go on the counter. It took a Loooong time to break them of it. A combination of Persistence (every time I caught them putting them on the floor and I know it sounds mean but giving them a little Startle with a clap or shout "Get Down!" when I caught them there) and a "No" spray I found (not toxic, just a smell they hate) and I have set up a camera to see if they do it when I'm not home a couple times(just for laughs) with a plate of food on the counter even and they Don't. Really depends on the cat. Most cats will do whatever the heck they want (I know there are other things mine still can't be broken of) but you Can teach them not to get on the kitchen counter given a lot of hard work and most importantly making Sure they Always have fresh food they like and water available so they don't feel the need to go up exploring for more, and don't feed them in your kitchen so they won't look for food there.

Scotch tape or any other sticking tape mentioned above is the answer. It's simply a lot easier and quicker to set up this 'trap' since you'll need to do it on a regular basis until your cat stops jumping on the counter

Keep the sticky side facing up and try using a length of about 1 ft. You don't want it too long otherwise the tape will take forever to peel of your cat (or even a safety hazard if it gets tangled around), and you wouldn't want it too short where it is easy for the cat to take off itself.

It took my cat about 3 days to learn not to jump on the counter this way.

I always just said "No" in a stern tone, picked up the kitten, and placed it on the floor. Then, whenever I'd see it looking up at the counter top and getting ready to jump, I'd give it my "that's not allowed" angry sound. It took a little persistence for some cats, but they all eventually got the message and stopped.

At least while I was home and watching. Texel is right about cats generally doing what they want when they want.

Take a spray bottle with water and put 2 tablespoons of cayenne pepper in and mix well. Every time you see the cat on the counter--squirt him. It will work and does not harm the animal. Also works very well for keeping them from digging in the trash cans

A good way to keep your cat off the counter tops is to keep them filled up with junk for about a week then your kittyy will not go on them any more.

Either push it off but maybe wait till its a little older so it doesn't get hurt. Grab it by the scruff of its neck (and remember it wont hurt it because his/her mother did it to him/her all the time) and place him/her on the floor. Spray it with water in its face. Or make a loud "PSSST" noise that will scare it and it will get down by its self. Then u can use the "PSSST" noise when ever he/she is doing something u dont like because it will stop because u scared it. THat one is my favorite becasue whenever my two cats r doing something that there not supposed ot be doing i make that noise and they go off running even if there across they were on the other side of the room.

Plastic Wrap, or Aluminum Foil on the counter for a few days will do the trick. Or you can use a squirt bottle of water and squirt him every time you see him on the counter.

I have two tried everything, most I got is they dont do it with me around. In the morning early I sometimes catch them and they jump faster than a cheetah out of there, but they will probably never stop going up on the counter. Just dont leave stuff there and be carefull with your knives, keep them in drawers

I had the same problem with 2 of my cats. I got a kids squirt gun and when I caught them on the counter, I'd shoot them with water. It doesn't hurt them, but as most cats hate water, it sure does deter them.
