Its simple. Enjoy all the foods you used to like that don't contain meat. Substitute meat with portabello mushrooms, beans, tofu, or meat substitutes like boca burger and others. Try fruits and veggies you have never tried before, like oven fries made from ruttebegga or turnip, zuchini or bell pepper stuffed with rice, etc. Fresh mango and papaya, carambola (star fruit) kiwi and FRESH pinapple are amazing. Try some ethnic recipes for variety, el salvador pupusas (bean and cheese stuffed corn tortillas, my version of a burger) arrancini (rice balls stuffed with peas, cheese, etc) There are tons of ways to add variety to your diet. I simply dont think about meat as being enjoyable or an option for me. Good luck. I have been a vegetarian since i was 7, I haven't gained much weight with vegetables, pasta, rice, (just eat in small quanities) eat protein bars and viatmin supplements and milk for protein and fruits. Tofu is also good but if u don't like it there are meat substitues at your local gorcery store.

I see. So you're thinking of the "carbs" right? You should put that right out of your head because the "low carb-high protein" diet is a lie. Sure you lose weight. Know why? Because the high protein puts your body into a toxic state.
Your body will begin to smell because it's is essentially digesting itself for lack of nutrition and as such - producing mass amounts of "ketones." Ketones smell awful. Your breath with stink. Your skin will stink.
Don't do it.
Just makes sure your pasta is whole grain. Not from refined white flour. Your rice should be unprocessed. Brown rice not white. Lundberg Farms has a great line of whole rices.
It's the highly refined highly chemicalized food items that cause us to pack on the pounds. Regardless of them being "enriched" they are nutritionless. Our body does not recognize them as food so they are shuttled off to our hips, butts and tummies for storage.

If you don't want to gain weight, steer clear of what you have on your list (sorry!). Those starches will make you gain and gain. If you do want to eat them, make sure you eat wheat pasta and brown rice.
Soups are good and easy to make. Plus you can include tons of veggies. Salads are good as well. For sandwiches, I like to eat whole wheat pita instead of bread. I slather on some hummus, alfalfa sprouts, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and romaine and dig in.
