nope. protein only comes from animal sources (beef, eggs, milk, etc). and also sometimes when things are combined it makes a full protein (beans & rice, peanut butter & whole wheat bread).
...not sure if that's completely accurate, it's just what i learned in a foods and nutrition class.

Basil like all leaves is moisture,fiber & minute traces of elements,in the quantities used in cooking or salads etc,the importance is the taste & flavour they lend to the dish,it isn't used in quantities that would make a significant contribution to diet.

not quite bulky enough
some things that are high in protien:
eggs
meats [steak, chicken, pork, turkey, ect]
beans
fish [sometimes more than some meats]
fruits and vegetables dont though...
