Angiotensin is an oligopeptide in the blood that causes vasoconstriction, increased blood pressure, and release of aldosterone from the adrenal cortex. It is a powerful dipsogen. It is derived from the precursor molecule angiotensinogen, a serum globulin produced in the liver. It plays an important role in the renin-angiotensin system.

Angiotensin is an oligopeptide in the blood that causes vasoconstriction (any agent which causes a narrowing of the lumen of blood vessels), increased blood pressure, and release of aldosterone from the adrenal cortex.
ACE stands for angiotensin converting enzyme. Levels of angiotensin, a chemical which narrows blood vessels, are restricted by the drug, causing the arteries to dilate and leading to a fall in blood pressure.
Types of ACE inhibitor include enalaparil, captopril and lisinopril.
Side-effects include a fall in blood pressure, especially when combined with diuretics for the first time.

Angiotensinogen is a precursor for angiotensin, which is a substance in your blood that causes your blood vessels to constrict and your blood pressure to rise. It's part of a whole pathway of chemical reactions that control your kidney function and blood pressure. Perhaps you are taking an Angiotensin Converting Enzyme inhibitor (ACE inhibitor) for high blood pressure. The drug wroks by inhibiting the angiotesin from being formed, so your blood vessels don't constrict, and your blood pressure stays low.

Angiotension has something to do with regulating your blood pressure. I can't remember exactly what the function is, but different blood pressure medicines can affect it. Look on Web MD for more information.
