I am having an ABC birthday party for my twins 1st birthday. The theme is ABC's...we have letter-shaped pretzels, letter-shapped gummy candy, alphabet pasta, alphabet cereal.....any other alphabet foods that you know of? I need a main dish for dinner (could do alphabet pasta soup) but I don't think it will a favorite with the kids. Any ideas?

I have made rice crispie square mix, but mold into letters of the child's name. It would take a lot though, because you have twins. That is a really theme.... have fun.

If you have pastry cutters of the alphabet use then to cut a slice of bread with perhaps the first letter of their name or their initials. Spread some with butter and add some chocolate sprinkles or those wee coloured thingees.

Make some crunchy bread mousetraps in the shape of letters. they are particularly good as they will keep for a few days in an air top container

My suggestion would be to have a successful party give them food they like, it will be easier on all of you

My parents used to make me pikelets shaped like the letters in my name :P :) A little extra work, though, but you can't go wrong with plain batter like that - if you used pancake batter instead you could put all different kinds of toppings on, like crepes.
Or, you could just go with a dish beginning with each letter and have little signs with them saying which letter they are - but that's a LOT of food, not to mention preparation.

You could get plain frozen pizzas and top them with toppings in the shape of letters.

Or alphabet soup and grilled cheese cut out in ABC cookie cutters would totally work.

or do a cheese fondue with homebaked breadsticks for dipping. you could just take pre-made pizza dough, cut into thin strips, twist into letters, and brush with olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper and bake until brown but still softish. you could also put out veggies for healthy dipping options.

Alphabet French toast. (Cut it w/ alphabet cookie cutter when it comes off the grill.) Arrange on platter, sift powdered sugar over. Syrup and jam(s) served on the side.

In the superstore, fruits are usually picked out much too soon. Some are rocks, many are wrong. Some of the fresh vegetables are right (zucchini, onions, garlic, lettuce, greens, and a few others) so I'd have to go with vegetables.
