Is it normal for a neutered male cat to spray? There has been no changes around the house Litter the same,no other animals to cause stress and no change of food. This is something new he has started. Any good suggestions to take the odor away?

If they were spraying before they were neutered, there's a good chance that they will keep spraying. Some people say it's a habit. I don't really know, I just know that I've had cats neutered and they still spray.

If they are neutered before they start spraying, they usually will never spray though.

Neutered male cats only have a fifty percent chance of not spraying. There are products in pet stores to neutralize the smell. You have to make it unpleasant for him to spray wherever he does it. If you don't want to spend money for the product try a solution of baking soda. Sometimes if the litter is not changed often enough they will start doing this. Poor kitty. They really want to please us, are you sure another cat isn't invading his territory while you're out or while you're asleep. I have a pet door and often find other visitors in the house in the middle of the night. Do you have a new person in your life that the cat doesn't like or is jealous of.

definite. A neutered male cat can spray. Its alot much less in all hazard than if he wasn't, yet some cats do exactly. i do no longer if comprehend if male cats are friendlier. Have had numerous of the two genders, and that i do no longer in all hazard see a distinction. yet there are some issues you're able to do to make it much less in all hazard on your cat to spray. you will get him neutered as early as a threat and not have yet another male cat at your residence

Odoban will remove the smell. If he was over 1 1/2 yrs old when he was nuetered it has become habit and he may not stop, or there may be a stray wandering through that you haven't spotted, but that your cat can smell and he still has some territorial instincts going on and wants to spray to keep said stray away. Only other thing would be behavioral, look into fung shwaying (spelling?) his area.
