Instead of worrying yourself sick, why don't you get tested. It's fast and simple and you'll know for SURE if you have it or not.

Good luck!

You should definitely get tested if you had even the tiniest bit of unprotected sex with this man. getting tested will be the only way you can get your fears rested. You can go to your doctor. Or check out planned parenthood.com and find the nearest location. I don't know where you live, but if it's in or any where around a city, then there should definitely be some anonymous and free testing clinics. And please remember: when you go to get tested, the test counselor is a completely nuetral party that is there to help you.

PS: HIV doesn't really have symptoms, except for: pretty severe night sweats, a mono-like illness, very swollen lymph glands, and perhaps a fever. But, all this symptoms sound like the flu, too. So, there's really no way of knowing you have HIV unless you get tested.

I wish you the best of luck

Here are some of the events that take place when you are infected with the HIV.
1. The person will get sore throats and fevers and flulike symptoms with in the first few weeks. This is a period called the Acute retroviral syndrome ( Window period)
2. After that it takes a period of 8-15 years with an average of 10 years for development of full blown AIDS. As much as you state a couple of symptoms that resemble HIV i highly doubt you will get these symptoms after 6 months.
3. I suggest that you take an HIV test and you will find out that you were probably worried about nothing.
4. Some of those symptoms could be related to stress and depression most especially if you are worried about your HIV status.

Good luck.

I went through a stage of being really worried about this and convinced myself like you have. I used to freeze whenever I heard anyone mention HIV and felt convinced that ceratin things were signs and symptoms. The week I took the test I didn't even go out and I felt like my life was over. Getting the result was terrifying but it was clear and I've never been so happy in my life. Now I know to always be safe and not too get so worked up abput things-to just test and find out for sure. The nurse when i went for the test said that it is statistically unlikely unless you have shared a needle, slept with some who has, slept with someone from a country with a really bad aids problem or slept with a gay person. Contraversial but statistical evidence to support. it's not to say a straight person can't catch it, it's just less likely. Even if the person you slept with did have hiv, which is very unlikely, you wouldn't necessarily have it.

I'm sure you're fine but get it checked and get some peace of mind....you'll be so glad you did!

You're worrying too much. But, you should go and get tested (now would be the perfect time) and you'd know for sure. There are so many symptoms of HIV that it is hard to pinpoint if you have it based solely on that. Sometimes, symptoms may not appear at all. Just, go and get tested and stop worrying yourself sick.

Personally you could have it, but I'm not sure. If your lymph glands are swollen or you are losing weight more than you usually do, you should get an HIV test. They have places where they administer free HIV tests. Don't wait because once you get AIDS you will become very sick and develop other AIDS related diseases. I will pray for you that you don't have it because it is a bad thing, believe me I know. I was born with it and I am 16 now, but I am doing fine because I know I have it.

Go and get tested. Stop having unprotected sex! This could be many things but you did subject yourself to any STD. Worring does not help anything a Doctors appointment with some answers will. Good Luck !

Knowledge is Power. Go get an HIV test done. Planned Parenthood usually has times that they will provide them for free. Go to www.plannedparenthood.org to find a local clinic. Good luck to you.

The test is the only way to know for sure. If its negative then you get a second chance and need to be safe from here on out. If its positive life still goes on Im going on fifteen years and you wouldnt be able to tell by lookin at me.

go to your local gum clinic. Its completely confidential your doctor does not even have to know you have been. I have just been through a similar thing with my mate she has just had the all clear, but she has had 4 weeks of not knowing and they were really stressful hope this helps as my mate now feels like a weight has been lifted from her shoulders.they will test you for everything from hiv to thrush so dont delay as stress can make it worse
