Bronchitis is, also, often a catch-all, when there is nothing more specific.
You could, maybe, have a sinus infection. And sometimes one round of antibiotics won't get rid of it.
Either way - you will indeed have to contact the doc again. Some docs you can call them, and say (if it's EXACTLY the same as before) the symptoms haven't gone away - what do you recommend and sometimes they'll just call in a new prescription. If there is any changes though from your symptoms previously, you need to go back.
Be sure whatever meds you are given, that you take as specified and complete ALL of it even if you feel better.

You only have coughed for six weeks. I was told that a cough can exist for ten weeks after the initial infection. If you are coughing up discoloured mucus still then your antibiotic has not worked and you may need a different one. If the mucus is clear then try a different cough medicine.
How is your breathing apart from the cough? If you are wheezy then your doctor needs another visit.

you need to go back to the docs partcularly if you are coughing up discoloured mucus.
If you were told by the doc that you had bronchitis they should have given you some antibiotics right away.
a prlonged cough isnt unusual at this time of year, but as he diagnosed bronchitis and if you have greenish phlem then you should go right back.

Sometimes that cough takes forever to go away. I will usually take Mucinex to help loosen of the mucous in the chaest to get it out. It helps.
