about 8 days later he became very lethargic, vomited once, will not eat ,drinks very little and has lost weight. also his teeth have turned yellow the vet could not remove the yellow so did lab work feb 19. no billirubin in urine...only labs out of the ordinary were ALT slightly elevated. he got IV fluids / lasix. was sent home on daily lasix and denosyl and returns for more lab work on feb 22. his physical condition has not changed. he eats very little with much coaxing and i give pedialite with a syringe in his mouth. what should i ask the vet? or should i go to another?

new lab work today showed the alt has doubled..now he is to continue the lasix & denosyl and add metromidazol and one ohter that i don't have the spelling on until i pick it up in the morning. he ate a little more today, some special canned food from the vet. have any of you ever had a dog with these problems or on these meds? anyone have any ideas that may help me personally take care of him?

As this appears to *possibly* be a case of anesthesia overload, and resulting organ damage, I would certainly go to another vet, as the one that did the surgery is biased (it happened to my older dog, and he never fully recovered)

I am so sorry this has happened to you r poor little puppy, it is so hard when one Gods most precious little ones are hurting.
I have more encoragement in me then medical proceeding but, you are doing a good thing with the pedialite and the food, don't let him turn away one minute, keep it up!
We have been raising kittens for about 7 years, 25 litters strong!
kittens and puppies do the same things at this stage, very vulnerable, let they're strength ever for a little bit and they're health drops drasticlly.

Give it lots of love and don't bath her/him AT ALL!
It sends them in to shock and can give them a heart attack!
It has happened to me before, the bath scares them bad enough but, when they are so weak and don't know what's going on it is 10x worse!

I will be praying for you and your little puppy,
I hope this comforts you,
may God bless you and your family.
