Today Mom had a brief loss of vision and hearing for about 10 seconds then she went into a panic attack. Is this part of a panic attack? I am new to all of this, and would appreciate any info on this. Mom has had these attacks now for 2 years, and they are so horrible for her, and they scare me so much when she has them. She has copd and emphazema also. Thanks for any info.

What you are describing doesn't seem like a panic attack. It is more like a condition called transient ischemic attack (TIA), or less likely some type of seizure. TIA is a serious condition that is a warning sign of impending stroke. See needs to see a doctor soon. Right now, your mom should take 1/2 of an aspirin, and continue taking a 1/2 aspirin each morning and night until she sees a doctor (unless there is some reason she shouldn't take aspirin).

it may be 'hysteria', a condition where temporary paralysis etc takes place and recovers without any residual deficit. it needs psychiatric treatment. usually unresolved issues., which the patient cannot face. the subconscious triggers it off and it is not malingering.
