eliminate sugars and fruits from your diet for now. Introduce the fruits after you are under control with your levels. Try to cut out bread, peas, corn, and pasta. These are the main things that get it up there. Get yourself on sort of a diet of 75 carbs, 3 X a day. Low or no sugar. Sugar counts in things should be 4 or less. If you count the carbs then you should be ok. Or if you prefer you can just have 225 of carbs per day. How you distribute it is your business. But it is much better to distribute it evenly thru the day. You can even have 5 or 6 meals a day if that's better for you. But keep it at 225 or less of carbs per day. Good luck. My friend just did this with my help and she went from a sugar level of 164 to 104. We were thrilled.

There are different reasons why your blood sugar might be high and you should talk to your dr about this. Cutting down the sugar in your diet might help, but again speak to your dr as you might need medication and you shouldn't risk not being on medication if you do need it cos this could lead to long term health problems.
On the subject of diet, look on nutritional info labels etc. - a common mistake is to think that fruit is good for you - don't get me wrong, it is good for you, but it contains a lot of sugar - go for lots of veges instead, and berries are low in sugar as fruit goes. Be carefull when choosing yoguhrts as they vary a lot in sugar. Fat doesn't affect your blood sugar (because it doesn't contain any carbs/sugar), but they do affect your health! A ballanced diet and exersise is the best you can do without medication, but as I said, speak to your dr about it!

Try and cut out any foods with added sugar,and be careful as no added sugar written on foods does not mean there are not any in it,so check food ingredients before buying them.If you have a sweet tooth,try sugar free stuff as long as its low carbs and low sat fats.I use a couple of web sites as i do have sweetness cravings.I have my own little stash of candy and chocs.They can cause diarrhoea,if over eaten,so as long as you are careful they are fine.Be careful with fruit,because of its natural sugars.Eat fresh vegs and plenty of water,avoid fizzy drinks and opt for flavoured waters,checking that they are sugar free.
I only buy foods for myself that are "sugar free"not "no added sugar" as they can be misleading to diabetics.In sugar free foods some adidtives may cause you to put weight on,this is why you should look for low carbs and low sat fats.I have recently lost 2 stone,just by eating sensibly and weaving my sugar free foods into my diet for treats.I am very happy with my diet,and i hope you will soon get your sugar intake under control!Good luck!

I've found that processed carbs really jump my blood sugar.try eating only whole grain products like whole wheat bread,brown rice, whole grain pasta, I also found corn products jumped my blood sugar so I try to avoid them hope this helps.

stop eating anything that is deep fried. bake foods. lots of veggies ISa a plus. . avoid anything that is sweet, tastes good and of course, sodas. and best of all run and walk A LOT! ! ! !
