Hi everyone!

Yeah, my doctor diagnosed me with GORD is that GERD? Anyway, I am taking Nexium for it. I am having a flare-up for the past 4 days. I think it was the juicing that triggered off my symptoms again! I was doing OK for a month and then I went onto juicing and it started up. I think I have to wait for it to die down and take good care of myself. I am exercising (trying to lose a few pounds) and eating relatively healthy now. I didn't eat unhealthy to begin with but my diet could do with a bit of changing. But I have to stay away from acidic/spicy foods and drink. I can't drink coffee anymore (I used to) and I can't drink wine (I used to) and I can't eat whatever I want to anymore! Sucks a bit I guess but I'll get used to it. My stomach is still burning slightly but I do have PMT can that also contribute? Might huh! Right before I get my cycle my body plays up. I am a 28 year old relatively healthy female.

I have Gerd and obtained it when I was pregnant. I have had it for 30 yrs now. I can't drink soft drinks, caffine, juices as they contain citric acid. No chocolate, spicy foods or greasy food. I take prilosec. They have tried the other ones and they do not work for me. Try over the counter prilosec and see if it works for you. It's a lot cheaper. I even went thru an acid study and they told me I had more episodes with acid than anyone else in the tudy. So I know what you are going thru. Changing your diet drastically will help a big bunch. I know it sucks to have to do that but it is worth it in the long run. Water even gave me heartburn.

Have been on the nexium very long? maybe it isn't the right acid reflux medicine for you, I had to try prilosec, zantac, and finally the nexium, and put blocks under my bed to elevate my head at night along with 2 pillows you may try those also it does help. Juices are a killer sometimes, but I still drink and eat the things I want to I just don't overdue it. I rule out by taking chances what really sets it off then I stay away from those items. It is Gerd

This is a natural program that you can try to cure your acid reflux http://acidreflux.toptips.org

Acid reflux disease, also known as gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD), occurs due to the coexistence of several medical and lifestyle conditions. Physiological factors that trigger GERD include lower esophageal sphincter (LES) hypotonia (the gradual weakening of the LES), along with retrograde flow of stomach contents into the esophagus, and the level of sensitivity of the esophageal mucus to the reflux content.
