No, cold's cannot be "sweated out". Working out may actually make it worse since you're overheating and overworking your body at it's low point. Your body has no energy right now to feed off of. When you have a really bad cold you should just relax and lay in bed for a couple days. Rest is the best key for when you are sick. Drink lots of fluids and eventually you will be able to work out your little heart.

I was in S. America when ill and used a steam room that had fresh ecalyptus leaves in it - was really nice. But only for short time, 10 minutes or so followed by a soak in hot water up to my chin. Don't know if this helps, but helped me breath and felt very nice.

I don't think that sweating it out is a good idea, you need to drink lots of fluids and have hot soup - not dehydrate yourself.

You will feel better in a week or so.

I was sick last weekend and started to get better so I thought it would be ok to exercise. BAD IDEA!! After working out my cold took a turn for the worse. I wouldn't recommend it based on my experience.

Light exercise helps blood circulation, facilitating the healing process of the body.
But guard against over-exhaustion.

Well, it has worked for me in the past! I don't care what doctors may say about it.

no, all you will do is to fatigue your body, making it harder for your immune system to fight it off....take vitamins, extra vit c and get lots of sleep....
