Not an easy question to answer! Meat and products such as leather, bonemeal, blood and gelatin are obvious ones, although in parts of India leather is made from the skins of cattle that have died a natural death.
For all practical purposes, fur and silk production also necessitate killing the animals. The obvious animal products which do NOT involve killing the animal are milk, eggs and wool. However, almost without exception, dairy cattle, laying hens and wool-bearing animals are slaughtered at the end of their productive lives and pass into the food chain.

Most animal derived ingredients are obtained by killing the animal. I think most of the responses you're getting are about animal products. Not animal ingredients. Eggs, milk and wool are products not ingredients. They can be ingredients to a cake. But they are products that you buy.

The animal ingredients in your shampoo, soap, cosmetics and cleaning products were the result of slaughter.

She replaced into eating alcohol AND eating cereal? unusual mixture. ;) She could o.k. not understand. Did you element those issues out to her? If she's new to veganism, there could nicely be lots to benefit - there are frequently animal factors the place we least assume them, and somewhat some people, till they spend a while educating themselves, element being vegan is very nearly not eating meat, dairy, or eggs. people overlook approximately animal-derived supplementations, products processed with animal factors, cosmetics and enjoyed ones cleaners examined on animals. A passionate vegan could be attentive to this. I define a "passionate vegan" as a vegan that spends time continuously gaining know-how of on the subject of the plight of animals and educating people as much as they could. yet being a hundred%, completely and thoroughly, great-organic vegan is impossible. each and every little thing out of your motor vehicle tires to the metallic beams in the homes we known are produced with some fraction of animal via-product. it is the character of the international at this element, regrettably. yet, as a vegan, is it functional to not keep in a food market by using fact quite some minuscule share of the money i've got spent there is going to be spent on that non-vegan purifier they use to bathe the flooring? could I deny myself existence-saving drugs by using fact the learn replaced into performed on animals? needless to say not. i will’t do lots for the vegan pass if I’ve enable myself die via being starved or not taking the medicine i %. There are some SMALL compromises made in this understand. Being vegan isn’t approximately being extremist. It’s approximately making the perfect possible attempt you are able to in all fairness to not make contributions to animal cruelty, and inspire others to do the comparable. besides, I digress! As to your chum, i could boost a well mannered communication together with her on the subject of the flaws you have observed, by using fact she won't understand. If she DOES understand and is probably in simple terms attempting to sneak via without anybody noticing, perhaps your dialogue together with her will inspire her to be extra careful sooner or later and supply a 2d concept to what's needed to her.
